VoIP Hurricane Net Activation Plans for Tropical Storm Isaias Update As of 8/2/20 – 1000 AM EDT

Hello to all…

Isaias has weakened slightly more to a 65 MPH tropical storm approaching and affecting Eastern Florida as of the 8 AM EDT – Sunday 8/2/20 advisory. The latest forecast track brings Isaias near the coast of Florida but keeps the worst conditions along and on the east side of the center offshore. With the system no longer expected to attain hurricane strength, the VoIP Hurricane Net will not activate for Sunday as initially planned. VoIP Hurricane Net Management team members will make a best effort to monitor the *WX_TALK* Echolink conference node: 7203/IRLP 9219 system for any local SKYWARN reports over the course of Sunday. WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center, has suspended operations once the system weakened to tropical storm status. At this time future impacts to the US East Coast are as a tropical storm so no VoIP Hurricane Net activations at this time over the track of Isaias but this will be monitored closely for any unexpected track changes that might allow for unexpected intensification of Isaias into a hurricane.

Advisories on Isaias can be seen off the main menu of the voipwx.net web site, via our voipwxnet social media feeds on Facebook and Twitter and at the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link:

The VoIP Hurricane Net Management Team will continue to closely monitor the progress of Isaias. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
