VoIP Hurricane Net Activation Plans for Hurricane Isaias Update As of 7/31/20 – 1030 PM EDT

Hurricane Isaias is an 80 MPH Category-1 hurricane currently approaching and affecting the Bahama islands as of the 8 PM EDT – Saturday 7/31/20 advisory. The latest forecast track brings Isaias to a landfall on the East Coast of Florida on Sunday and then as a tropical storm up the US East Coast affecting the Carolinas on Monday and New York and New England Tuesday into Wednesday Morning. The VoIP Hurricane Net will likely activate for Isaias some time in the Saturday Afternoon to Saturday Evening timeframe into Sunday Evening. More details on the activation plan will be posted on Saturday Morning after conferring with coordinators from WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center and seeing later forecast tracks and guidance from the National Hurricane Center. Future activations beyond this weekend will be determined based on the track, speed and intensity of Isaias.

The weekly VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for this Saturday Evening 7/31/20 has been cancelled due to the potential for activation of Isaias some time Saturday Afternoon or evening.
