With Amateur Radio Field Day weekend on Saturday 6/27/26-Sunday 6/28/26 and the US Independence Day Holiday falling on Saturday 7/4/26, the VoIP Hurricane Prep Nets for Saturday 6/27/26 and Saturday 7/4/26 are cancelled. This is to allow Amateur Radio Operators to enjoy Amateur Radio Field Day weekend and time with family and friends for the US Independence Day holiday, which is also America’s 250th “Birthday” as a country on Saturday 7/4/26. The next VoIP Hurricane Prep Net will be Saturday 7/11/26.

Hello to all…

An area of low pressure over South Texas is expected to move offshore the Texas coast and has a medium chance, 60%, of becoming a short-lived tropical depression or tropical storm. The main threat from this system will be heavy rainfall, flooding and perhaps severe thunderstorms. This low pressure area is not expected to reach hurricane strength but the VoIP Hurricane Net Management Team will continue to monitor the progress of this system. The National Hurricane Center has initiated Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC-1) advisories as of 11 AM EDT/10 AM CDT – Tuesday 6/16/26 and a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from Sargent TX to Morgan City LA. Advisories on this PTC-1 are available off the main menu of the VoIP Hurricane Net web site and the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link:
