Tropical Storm Edouard Makes Landfall at 325 PM EDT/225 PM CDT Tuesday 9/1/26 Near Johnson Bayou, Louisiana – No Formal VoIP Hurricane Net Activation Needed

Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall at 325 PM EDT/225 PM CDT Tuesday 9/1/26 near Johnson Bayou Louisiana. The landfall ends any threat of Edouard becoming a hurricane and the Hurricane Watch for parts of the Gulf Coast is discontinued. Informal monitoring of the *WX_TALK* Echolink conference node: 7203/IRLP 9219 reflector system began shortly after 12 PM EDT by KC5FM-Lloyd and AE4WX-Mark for any calls for reports or issues. This informal monitoring will end at 5 PM EDT Tuesday 9/1/26 with Edouard having made landfall and no formal VoIP Hurricane Net activation is needed. Wind gusts as high as 71 MPH in Texas Point, TX have been reported. Port Arthur, TX recently had a wind gust to 54 MPH. These kind of winds will continue for a few hours on portions of the Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana coast line.
