Tropical Storm Isaias Forms in the Gulf of America – Threatens Northern US Gulf Coast as Hurricane – VoIP Hurricane Net Activation Likely Starting Friday PM 10/9/26

Hello to all..

Tropical Storm Isaias has formed in the Gulf of America and is expected to make landfall along the Northern US Gulf Coast somewhere between Southern Mississippi to the Florida panhandle as a hurricane. Isaias will require a formal VoIP Hurricane Net activation and Amateur Radio Operators in the Northern US Gulf Coast should have their hurricane plan in place and hopefully we will hear from many Amateur Radio Operators in the affected area of Isaias. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for Bay St. Louis to Indian Pass. A Storm Surge Watch is in effect for the Mouth of the Mississippi River to Yankeetown. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Jefferson/Plaquemines Parish line to west of Bay St. Louis, east of Indian Pass to the Aucilla River. Advisories on Isaias can be seen on the VoIP Hurricane Net web site under Atlantic Tropical Products, via the voipwxnet Facebook/X social media feeds or at the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link:

A formal VoIP Hurricane Net Activation Plan for Isaias will be posted by Thursday evening with the timeframe from activation likely some time mid to late afternoon Friday through late morning Saturday. The VoIP Hurricane Net Management team will closely monitor the progress of Isaias. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
