Atlantic Tropical Update – Saturday 10/19/24 – 1100 AM EDT
Hello to all…
Here is an Atlantic Tropical Update for Saturday 10/19/24 at 1100 AM EDT:
Tropical Storm Oscar has now formed east of the Turks & Caicos Islands with Tropical Storm Warnings now in effect for the Turks & Caicos Islands and the Southeastern Bahamas with Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings for portions of Eastern Cuba. At this time, Oscar is not expected to reach hurricane strength but is a small tropical cyclone which could be subject to more rapid fluctuations in intensity up or down so Oscar will be monitored closely. Advisories on Oscar can be seen on the voipwx.net web site under Atlantic Tropical Products via our Facebook and X feeds and via the NHC web site at the following link:
Tropical Storm Nadine will be making landfall in Belize as a tropical storm later in the next few hours. Tropical Storm force conditions are occurring in San Pedro Belize and a couple reports from online weather stations have been submitted to NHC with a high wind gust of 62 MPH recorded in San Pedro Belize. Nadine will continue to cause flooding from heavy rainfall and some wind damage with some coastal storm surge flooding in portions of Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Nadine is still not expected to reach hurricane strength so VoIP Hurricane Net Activation is not anticipated. We will continue to monitor the progress of Nadine. Advisories on Nadine can be seen on the voipwx.net web site under Atlantic Tropical Products via our Facebook and X feeds and via the NHC web site at the following link:
