The net is now meeting on the FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH *ONLY*, now that it is the hurricane “off season”. The net for next month will be Saturday, April 2, 2016, with the net going back to every Saturday on June 4, 2016. In short, if you show up any Saturday besides first Saturday of April or May…you won’t find anyone here.
There is a possibility that the off season nets (April and May) will have “training presentations”. On those nights, checkins and comments will be taken by Net Management, and possibly Skywarn Coordinators ONLY. All other checkins will be CALLSIGNS ONLY, to allow plenty of time for the Training Presentations. There was no Training Presentation for the March 5, 2016 net.
An announcement for the yearly pre-hurricane season WX4NHC Station Test will be made sometime in May.
Watch the Yahoo Groups and Facebook page for updates on all of these items.
While most of the U.S. will go to Daylight Savings Time at 2am local time on Sunday, March 13, 2016…areas like Arizona and Hawaii will remain on Standard Time. If you are in these areas, or observe GMT in your shack, the net time for the nets will be ONE HOUR EARLIER. Otherwise, the time for the nets will NOT change.
The 2016 National Hurricane Conference will be in Orlando, Florida from March 21-24, 2016. Further details are at:
