The VoIP Hurricane Net Management Team continues to closely monitor an area of disturbed weather near the northern coast of the Dominican Republic and Hispaniola. It continues to become better organized and is expected to become a tropical depression or tropical storm later today or Sunday. The disturbance is expected to continue to move west-northwestward into the Southeast Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands today and the Central Bahamas on Sunday with the potential for heavy rainfall and flash flooding/mudslides and strong winds. Strong winds and heavy rainfall are occurring in Hispaniola the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico this Saturday Morning. Interests in these areas should continue to closely monitor the progress of this system. This system has an 80% chance for development in the next 48 hours and a 90% chance for development over the next 5 days.
