VoIP Hurricane Net Activation – Major Hurricane Melissa – Monday Morning 10/27/25 – 8 AM EDT through Late Wednesday Evening 10/29/25

Hello to all..

**The VoIP Hurricane Net will activate at 8 AM EDT Monday Morning through at least late Wednesday Evening for Major Hurricane Melissa and impacts on Jamaica, Southwest Haiti, Eastern Cuba, the Turks & Caicos Islands. The net, on *WX_TALK* Echolink conference node: 7203/IRLP 9219 system and other VoIP radio systems via the KC5FM-R node is supporting WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida. Note during overnight hours and at other points in this three day period, we will be in an activation monitoring mode for any stations that call on the system as these areas can be difficult to have direct contact with given their infrastructure etc.**
**WX4NHC will also be active with their Amateur Radio Station as well during this timeframe starting at 7 PM EDT Monday Evening.**
**We ask any and all Amateur Radio Operators who may know of Amateur Radio or non-Amateur Radio Operators in the affected area starting with Jamaica and through Eastern Cuba into the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos Islands to give any and all reports from their area. In addition, any folks that can monitor online weather stations, reliable social media sources for reports to get to our net team would be helpful and then our team can discern the data that gets sent to WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio Station at the National Hurricane Center**
**The VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for Saturday Evening 11/1/25 has been canceled. The next VoIP Hurricane Prep Net will be Saturday Evening 11/8/25 unless a hurricane net activation is required.**
