Hurricane Beryl Update – Saturday 6/29/24 955 PM EDT – VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for Saturday 7/6/24 Canceled

Beryl became a hurricane on Saturday 6/29/24 at 5 PM EDT and continues to strength. Steady to rapid intensification is expected with Beryl becoming a major hurricane as it cross the Windward Islands. The VoIP Hurricane Net and WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center, will activate on Monday Morning 7/1/24 for Beryl and impacts to the Windward Islands. A full announcement will be posted by early Sunday Afternoon. Additional activations for Beryl for Jamaica and the Cayman Islands are possible later in the week. Given the 4th of July holiday and the likely activations of the VoIP Hurricane Net over the course of this week for Hurricane Beryl, the VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for Saturday 7/6/24 is canceled. The next VoIP Hurricane Prep Net will be on Saturday 7/13/24 barring a net activation for a landfalling hurricane.
