VoIP Hurricane Net Formal Activation Secured for Hurricane Isaias – Stand-by Mode Saturday AM 10/10/26 Through 11 AM EDT/10 AM CDT

The VoIP Hurricane Net formal activation for Hurricane Isaias secured at 1245 AM EDT – Saturday 10/10/26 as Isaias transitioned to a post tropical system. Many thanks to all stations in the affected area who supported the net and all stations outside the affected area who monitored the net and gave reports during Hurricane Isaias. Many thanks also to our Net Controls that supported the net including AE4WX-Mark, KK7AHR-George, KC5FM-Lloyd and WX9VOR-Debby.
During the net, 72 report submittals were sent into WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center. Highest wind gusts included 118 MPH in Jay FL, 116 MPH in Pensacola FL in Santa Rosa Sound, 114 MPH and 105 MPH Gusts at the Milton, FL Whiting Field South Airport – ASOS, 102 MPH at the Pensacola, FL City Hall which was used in a NHC Tropical Cyclone update, 102 MPH in Gulf Breeze FL and 99 MPH in Navarre Beach, FL. Rain Gauge totals between 5-10″ with isolated higher amounts were recorded. Storm Surge flooding was significant in Fort Walton Beach through Destin FL along with significant freshwater flooding in the Fort Walton Beach, FL area. The VoIP Hurricane Net will be in a standby mode on Saturday 10/10/26 through 11 AM EDT/10 AM CDT for any post Isaias damage reports and calls for assistance given the storm landfall at night through the overnight hours. A reminder that due to the hurricane net activation for Isaias and the Columbus Day Holiday weekend, the VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for Saturday Evening 10/10/26 is canceled and will resume on Saturday 10/17/26 at 8 PM EDT unless a VoIP Hurricane Net activation is required.
