Atlantic Tropical Update – Monday 10/5/26 – 830 PM EDT
Hello to all…
As of Monday 10/5/26 at 830 PM EDT, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring a trough of low pressure in the Southwestern Gulf of America that could develop into a tropical depression in the next few days as it drifts east-northeastward and eventually turns northward. While its too early to determine potential impacts to the Northern US Gulf coast, the time is now to begin monitoring this system as it has a high chance 70% of development within 48 hours with an 80% chance of development within 7 days. Updates from the NHC can be seen under Atlantic Tropical Products via the Tropical Weather Outlook on the voipwx.net web site, via our voipwxnet Facebook/X social media feeds and via the NHC web site at the following link:
The VoIP Hurricane Net Management Team will closely monitor the progress of this system and any other systems in the Tropics. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
