VoIP Hurricane Net Activation for Hurricane Hanna Secured at 900 PM EDT – Saturday 7/25/20

The VoIP Hurricane Net activation for Hurricane Hanna secured at 900 PM EDT Saturday 7/25/20 coincident with WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center, securing. While there was little direct contact with the local area, relayed reports from online weather stations, storm chasers and public safety feeds helped to provide a sense of conditions in and close to Hanna’s landfall point. It is also noted the landfall point was a rural area of South Texas.

VoIP Hurricane Net and WX4NHC Activation Plans for Hanna – Friday 7/24/20 750 PM EDT Update

Hello to all..

**VoIP Hurricane Net will activate on Saturday Morning 7/25/20 from 11 AM-6 PM EDT/10 AM-5 PM CDT for Hanna and its impacts on the Southeast Texas coast line. Hanna is expected to intensify and reach Category 1 hurricane status before making landfall in Southeast Texas.**
**WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio Station at the National Hurricane Center will be activating Saturday 7/25/20 from 12-6 PM EDT.**
**The weekly VoIP Hurricane Net for Saturday 7/25/20 is cancelled due to the net activation for Hanna*

Here are the VoIP Hurricane Net and WX4NHC Activation Plans for Hanna as of Friday Evening 750 PM EDT:

The VoIP Hurricane Net will activate on Saturday Morning 7/25/20 from 11 AM-6 PM EDT/10 AM-5 PM CDT Hanna and its impacts on the Southeast Texas coast line. Hanna is expected to intensify and reach Category 1 hurricane status before making landfall in Southeast Texas. WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio Station at the National Hurricane Center will be activating Saturday 7/25/20 from 12-6 PM EDT. Any Amateur Radio Operators in the affected area of Hanna or with relays into the affected area of Hanna are asked to provide surface and damage reports into the VoIP Hurricane Net for relay into WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center. We appreciate any and all support from Amateur Operators in the affected area or Amateur Operators with relays into the affected area. We are looking for reports based on the National Weather Service SKYWARN Reporting criteria. This can be seen on the VoIP Hurricane Net web site at the following link:

Any pictures or videos of wind damage, river/stream/urban/storm surge flooding etc. can be sent to the following email address: pics@nsradio.org and credit will be given to the Amateur Radio Operator, weather spotter or individual that took the photos and media and be shared with the Amateur Radio team at the National Hurricane Center and other agencies and outlets.

The KC5FM All-Star Node will be connected to the VoIP Hurricane Net and can be connected to by doing *328848.

VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for Saturday July 4th, 2020 Cancelled Due to US Independence Day Holiday

Hello to all…

The net management team has determined that with US Independence Day, July 4th, falling on a Saturday and consistent with what we have done when the New Year’s Day holiday has fallen on a Saturday in January, we will cancel the Saturday July 4th, 2020 VoIP Hurricane Prep Net to allow anyone who would normally check in to use that time for any holiday activities. The weekly net will resume on Saturday July 11th, 2020 at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT Saturday Evening. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
