Tropical Storm Chris Forms in the Atlantic

Good evening everyone,

The National Hurricane Center is issuing public advisories on TS Chris in the Atlantic Ocean. At this time there is no threat to land. TS Chris was last located about 560 miles south southwest of Cape Race Newfoundland. Chris currently has sustained winds near 45 MPH and a present movement East or 90 degrees at 8 MPH. TS Chris has a minimum central pressure of 1005 MB or 29.68 inches. The satellite imagery indicated that the non-tropical low pressure area located southeast of the canadian Maritimes had acquired tropical characteristics. Tropical storm force winds are extending out up to 70 miles from the center. At this time there also no tropical storm watches or warnings in place and the NHC is not expecting any in the next 24 hours.
