Hurricane Irene is expected to intensify into a Major Category 3 hurricane in the next 24 to 36 hours. Irene will be impacting the Bahamas over the next couple days. After that, Irene is a potential threat to the US East Coast from the Carolinas northward to New England.
We continue to look for reporting stations from the Bahamas or any Amateurs with contacts into the Bahamas that they can reach by any means. It would be extremely helpful to get additional reports from the affected area.
