RI Hurricane Awareness Tour Pictures and Recordings on WX1BOX Web Site

Hello to all….

On Monday April 30th, 2007, WX4NHC through the efforts of Julio Ripoll-WD4R and John McHugh-K4AG Coordinators for the National Hurricane Center Amateur Radio station, worked the Quonset State Airport in North Kingstown, RI stop of the Hurricane Awareness Tour. The Director of the National Hurricane Center, Bill Proenza, Hurricane Specialist, Michelle Mainelli, Warning Coordination Meteorologist, Glenn Field-KB1GHX, and Meteorologist-In-Charge Bob Thompson all spoke to the National Hurricane Center. In addition, Bob Thompson spoke with VoIP Hurricane Net Technical Coordinator and key overall technical person in EchoLink and IRLP Technology, Tony Langdon-VK3JED.

Recordings via EchoLink and a few pictures are posted at the WX1BOX web site at http://www.wx1box.org and underscores the visibility that Amatuer Radio received at the event. The New England Network, http://new-eng.com was utilized for this event.
