VoIP-WX Net Seeking September-November Net Controls for Weekly Prep Net

Hello to all….

With the peak of hurricane season rapidly approaching, the VoIP-WX Net team is seeking to fill several shifts from September through November for the weekly net.  Due to the continued prediction of an above normal hurricane season over the next several months, we are looking to fill in the shifts as quickly as possible to allow the Net Management Team to focus on activations as they occur.

Several shifts are available, and while prior NCO experience is a plus to assist us, it is not a requirement.  The best time to practice and get training for a net activation is through each of the weekly nets.  If you are interested in volunteering your time on one of our upcoming Saturday nets, please contact Jim Palmer – KB1KQW, VoIP-WX NCO Scheduler for the weekly and activated nets.  He can be reached by e-mail at kb1kqw @voipwx.net.

Thanks to all for their continued help and support of the net!

Recording of Echolink/IRLP Portion of the Massachusetts Statewide Hurricane Drill

Hello to all…

There has been a request from our friends in the Canadian Maritimes who wanted to get a recording of the Echolink/IRLP portion of the Massachusetts Statewide Hurricane Drill. The following link below is the recording:

http://www.voipwx.net/local/QSO_2010_08_02_184516.wav

Please note that this is a 25 MB file so it may be best served to right click on the link and download the file to your computer for listening purposes versus streaming the audio over your Internet connection. We hope providing this recording will be useful to folks in all coastal areas learning how to deal with hurricanes from an activation and exercise point of view. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
