Hurricane Franklin Update – Wednesday 8/9/17 at 845 PM EDT – VoIP Hurricane Net Informally Active Through Landfall

Franklin became a hurricane as the 5 PM EDT Wednesday 8/9/17 advisory and Hurricane Franklin is expected to make landfall as a hurricane on the Gulf Coast of Mexico around or north of Veracruz Mexico. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the coast of Mexico from Puerto de Veracruz to Cabo Rojo. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for the coast of Mexico north of Cabo Rojo to Rio Panuco. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the coast of Mexico south of Puerto de Veracruz to Puerto Dos Bocas and the coast of Mexico north of Cabo Rojo to Barra del Tordo. Advisories on Franklin can be seen on the main menu of the voipwx.net web site, via our Facebook and Twitter feeds and via the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link:

The VoIP Hurricane Net will be informally active through landfall of Franklin in Mexico into the overnight hours. Any stations in the affected area of Franklin or with relays into the affected area of Hurricane Franklin are asked to come up on the network on the *WX_TALK* Echolink conference node: 7203/IRLP 9219 reflector system.
