Question Of The week (from Lloyd, KC5FM):

Do you monitor National Hurricane Center products during the offseason (yes or no)??

***

The net meets on the first Saturday of each month through May, at 8pm Eastern, 7pm Central, 6pm Mountain, 5pm Pacific. The remaining nets during the off season are on April 4, and May 2. The net will resume Weekly operations every Saturday, starting on Saturday, June 6. There was no Training Presentation on the March 7, 2015 net…and, it’s unknown at this time if there will be Training Presentations on the April 4 (Easter Weekend), and May 2 nets.

Note that Daylight Savings Time starts at 2am local time tomorrow, Sunday, March 8…but effective with the April net, the net start time for Arizona and areas in the U.S. and its territories that do not observe Daylight Savings Time (or if you operate your shack clock on UTC time), will be ONE HOUR EARLIER. Failing to take the time change into account will mean you show up just as the net is ending, or it could be finished by the time you connect to the RF, Echolink, or IRLP node!!

For the areas that DO observe Daylight Savings Time, the net start time will NOT change.

With the time change, it’s also a good time to change the batteries in your NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards Unit, plus both your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
