..WX4NHC-National Hurricane Center Amateur Radio Operations will also be active starting at 8 AM EDT/1200 UTC Friday October 17th, 2014..

As of 11 PM EDT/0300 UTC Thursday 10/16/14 US Time, Hurricane Gonzalo is a dangerous Category-4 hurricane and looks to pass very close to if not directly hit the island of Bermuda. Hurricane Warnings are now in effect for Bermuda. The VoIP Hurricane Net and the Amateur Radio Station at the National Hurricane Center, WX4NHC, will be activated starting at 8 AM EDT/1200 UTC Friday October 17th, 2014 looking for surface reports and information from Bermuda. Activation will take place on the *WX_TALK* Echolink Conference Node: 7203/IRLP 9219 system for the duration of this event which is currently expected to be through Friday Evening. Any stations in these areas and any stations with relays into the affected areas of Hurricane Gonzalo are asked to join the net to provide surface reports.
