Tropical Storm Flossie Expected to Impact Hawaii on Monday

Hello to all..

Tropical Storm Flossie is expected to impact the Hawaiian Islands on Monday as a tropical storm. As of 5 PM EDT, 2100 UTC, Tropical Storm Flossie is about 430 miles east of Hilo Hawaii moving west at 20 MPH. Flossie will bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to portions of the Hawaiian Islands on Monday. Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings are in effect for the Hawaiian Islands. The Central Pacific Hurricane Center based in Honolulu Hawaii is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Flossie.

Below is a link to the Tropical Storm Flossie Products issued by the Central Pacific Hurricane Center:
http://www.prh.noaa.gov/cphc/tcpages/FLOSSIE.php

Additional NWS Honolulu Hawaii Products on Flossie can be seen via the following links:

http://kamala.cod.edu/hi/latest.wthw80.PHFO.html

NWS Honolulu Hawaii Flood Watch Statement:

At this time, the VoIP Hurricane Net is not anticipating activation for Flossie’s impact on Hawaii since it is expected to remain at tropical storm strength and no request for activation of our net has been made. It is noted that there are a number of Echolink and IRLP nodes in Hawaii so if a hurricane were to impact Hawaii, the VoIP Hurricane Net would activate in support of gathering reports from Hawaii as required.
