2007 NOAA Hurricane Outlook Calls for Above Average Season

NOAA has issued its 2007 Hurricane Outlook and calls for a 75% chance of an above average season with 13-17 named storms and 7-10 Hurricanes with 3-5 of those hurricanes being major hurricanes. A press release and the full report from NOAA can be seen at the following links:

NOAA will issue an updated Hurricane Outlook in early August. Dr. Gray from Colorado State University will issue an updated outlook on Thursday May 31st, 2007.
Now is the time to begin preparations in and near coastal areas for the 2007 Hurricane Season. We do not yet have the science and technology to accurately predict which areas will be affected worst if any land areas are affected at all. Therefore, preparations for this year’s season should be made from a personal perspective to save lives and property and for assisting with providing surface reports and supporting various disaster relief agencies, emergency management and the National Weather Service/National Hurricane Center across all Atlantic hurricane prone areas in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean in case a hurricane threatens your area.
