Tropical Depression (TD) 4 Strengthens into Tropical Storm Cristobal – 3rd Named Tropical System in the 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season
Hello to all..
The National Hurricane Center in Miami issued a Tropical Cyclone Update at 620 AM stating that Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter Aircraft data indicates that Tropical Depression (TD) 4 has strengthened into Tropical Storm Cristobal with Maximum Sustained Winds of 45 MPH and a minimum central pressure of 1002 Millibars or 29.59 inches. Cristobal is moving toward the Northwest at 9 MPH. The Bahama island chain will receive tropical storm force conditions today through part of Monday. Cristobal is expected to reach hurricane strength in 72 to 96 hours. Computer models shifted east in the track of Cristobal overnight but there remains a very wide variance in the model guidance at this time and it will be at least another 18-24 hours before computer model runs get a better handle on the track of Cristobal.
Advisories on Cristobal can be found off the main menu of the voipwx.net web site and on the voipwxnet Facebook and Twitter feeds. This information can also be seen off the National Hurricane Center web site via the following link:
