Hello to all…

The VoIP Hurricane Net Activation for Hurricane Beryl’s impacts on the Yucatan Peninsula was secured at 115 PM Friday Afternoon. Online weather stations have reported a wind gust to 85 MPH in Tulka Chemuyil Mexico and a 78 MPH wind gust in Blue Ray Grand Esmeralda, Mexico. A couple Mexican Amateurs signed on at around 4 AM EDT but were not in the affected area and had no relays into the affected area. Additional reports via social media of downed trees, power lines and power poles along with coastal storm surge and rain related flooding were sent into the National Hurricane Center. Special thanks to AE4WX-Mark and KK7AHR-George who helped provide net control support during the net. A total of 39 reports were submitted to WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio Station at the National Hurricane Center. A report viewer showing the reports is listed below:

Beryl is now a tropical storm but is expected to reintensify into a hurricane with strengthening forecast later today and especially Sunday into early Monday with impacts to the Texas Gulf Coast on Monday. The final VoIP Hurricane Net activation for Beryl will likely be on Monday supporting reporting out of the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Finally, a reminder that due to the holiday weekend and the multiple activations for Hurricane Beryl this week, the regular VoIP Hurricane Prep Net for Saturday 7/6/24 has been canceled. We will reconvene the regular weekly VoIP Hurricane Prep Net on Saturday 7/13/24 barring a hurricane net activation during the upcoming week or next weekend.

The VoIP Hurricane Net Management Team will closely monitor the progress of Beryl. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
