Tropical Storm Melissa Forms in the Caribbean Sea – Will Monitor for Possible VoIP Hurricane Net Activation but Track & Intensity Uncertain

Hello to all…

Tropical Storm Melissa has formed in the Caribbean Sea and a Hurricane Watch has been issued for Southwest Haiti with a Tropical Storm Watch for Jamaica. Melissa’s intensity forecast is uncertain on when it will become a hurricane. In addition, Melissa’s track is uncertain on where it eventually goes and how quickly it affects land areas particularly when it comes to landfall. This will be monitored over the next several days for possible VoIP Hurricane Net activation which is also uncertain at this time.

Advisories on Melissa can be seen off the main menu of the voipwx.net web site, via our Facebook and X feeds and via the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link:

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

The VoIP Hurricane Net will continue to monitor Melissa and any other developments in the Tropics. We will update as needed. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
