Atlantic Tropical Update – Monday 9/1/14 800 AM EDT/1200 UTC

Hello to all..

The latest Atlantic Tropical update from the National Hurricane Center has a broad area of low pressure that is emerging off the Yucatan Peninsula into the eastern part of the Bay of Campeche. Environmental conditions appear to be favorable for development and this system could become a tropical depression in the next day or two as it moves west-northwestward at 10 MPH and an Air Force reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system today if necessary. The main threat with the system currently is heavy rainfall for Southweast Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula today through Tuesday and mainland Mexico for later Tuesday into Wednesday.
